What is WordPress?

WordPress is a content management system (“CMS”). What this means is that, rather than coding your entire website like I had to do back in the dark ages, all of the coding has been done for you. You can simply log into your website through the “back end” and add content to your website, including posts, pages and images. It’s simple to use. You don’t have to have any special knowledge to use it. In fact, once the website has been set up for you, it’s not much more difficult to maintain than a Facebook page or other social networking account.

CMS has revolutionized the internet by making it easy for anyone to have an aesthetically-pleasing and functional internet presence.

WordPress is also an “open source” project. People all over the world have contributed their time, their resources and their knowledge to create a content management system that is free for anyone in the world to use. They continue to dedicate themselves to continually improving WordPress to make it safe, secure and efficient.
